One of the terrific things about having a place in Celebration FL – the “town that Disney Built” – is that we have a regular stream of friends, family, and acquaintances that are regularly swinging by Walt Disney World for vacation.
This past week we met up with a MegaCorp friend who comes to WDW pretty often. They retired to Florida, but live about 3 hours away. They are long time Disney Vacation Club members and have a lot of timeshare time here.
We had a couples meet up at Disney Springs on Tuesday. Earlier this year, I met up with a buddy of mine and his young son at EPCOT, had dinner here in Celebration with friends from college, met up with a board buddy for drinks at his Disney resort, and connected with my old elementary school friend at Magic Kingdom for fireworks. Most of these were impromptu meet-ups.
We have some friends that retired to a delightful small town in Tennessee who later moved to Florida. They said one of the reasons they moved is that too few people went out of their way to swing by their place in Tennessee. Having a place in Florida keeps you close to where people already want to vacation. For us, that’s just a 10 minute ride to the Walt Disney World Main Gate.
Do you get a lot of people visiting your neck of the woods? Do you wish you had more (or less!)?
