A friend had some work done on her house recently and posted online that she was happy to see the vendor using products from the MegaCorp she recently retired from.
I too continue to have some loyalty to the MegaCorp packaged goods brands I once worked on. But, it is only that … “some loyalty”. I’m not completely brand loyal just because they still send me a nice pension check each month.
In fact, I’ve written about the substantial savings of buying “store brand” products with minimal quality trade offs. I don’t think anyone should be blindly loyal to their employer (current or past) if they don’t earn it on merits. Paying an unearned premium out of loyalty alone doesn’t do you or them much good.
How loyal are you to the products of your previous employers?
