Bob Dylan: “What’s Money?”

A short post for a busy Friday …

When I chat with friends, I often say that when it comes to money, we all have more than we need by any global standard. We also have a higher standard of living than we would have expected growing up in the 1960s-70s-80s.

Because of this, I believe that time is the ultimate luxury. Time to live autonomously. Free time from having a boss (or customers) dictate how you spend your day.

As Bob Dylan observed, success for a man is being able to do “what he wants to”. That’s FIRE … financial independent & retired early.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

  1. One of the thoughts I convey to young people about the importance of spending less than you make and investing is that it will allow you to own the most important possession you can ever truly own. That possession is yourself.

    1. Well put! The freedom & autonomy that comes from “possessing” yourself is highly under appreciated for some reason.

  2. Didn’t Dylan also say “everybody must get stoned” which evidently our government supports with the new Ghandi’ish ‘grow your own’ law. Sorry, couldn’t resist and can’t stop giggling and I didn’t even smoke anything.

    1. I’m glad that cannibis prohibition is finally ended. Just like alcohol & tobacco, adults can make their own choices. We’ve had THC edibles legal for awhile anyway. Live free!

    1. I am not sure if Bob Dylan is a cigar smoker or not, but I think he would definitely approve! Enjoy the weekend!
