Out of Tune Goals

I try to share the good and bad of our early retirement lifestyle in these posts and here’s another bad one.

One of my goals in retirement was to learn to play the electric guitar that I bought 6 years before I retired. That was 10 years ago.

So, I’m 16 years behind.

This reminder popped up on my Facebook “Memories” tab today. I still have the 2010 Fender “Squire” Stratocaster. I even have the original box that says “Stop Dreaming and Start Rocking!”

Unfortunately, the box & guitar are virtually unmoved since I made it a goal to learn the instrument in my original goals list 10 years ago …

I think it would have been better if I had signed up for some lessons. There was a young guy at our church that used to do guitar lessons, but I never gave him a call. Maybe he’s still around. Putting a little “operational cadence” (to use a MegaCorp term) behind a goal helps get things moving.

What retirement goals are you embarrassingly behind on?
