Happy New Year 2024!
Just a quick post this Friday morning to update you on my “investment” in three beer passports last year. I’m heading out to a couple breweries tonight with my son & a buddy, to redeem my #62 & #63 “free” beers.
The beer passports cost $25 each, so I needed to claim at least $75 worth of beer – about 13 pints (@ $6.50/pint average) – to make the investment reach payback. Always the overachiever, I managed to redeem almost 5x the beers required.
I’m happy to report that this was also my highest-returning financial investment of the last 12 months with an ROI of 446%. That’s almost 3x higher than my amazing Bitcoin returns (+158%)! (Note to bloggers: including the word “Bitcoin” or “Cryptocurrency” in your tags increases readership dramatically!) 😁
We’ve already ordered some new beer passports for 2024. For those of you in the Twin Cities MN, we like both the Pub Pass & Sidewalk Dog books.

I bought a new guitar with “easy action” strings in hopes that my arthritic old fingers may relearn how to play after a fallow decade. If not, one of my grandkids can have fun playing around with it. Time will tell.

If you played it once, it should come back to you pretty well. I have an electric guitar downstairs, but I’ve never taken lessons or the time to really play it well. It’s getting to be the time I should probably pass it on to someone who still has the dream!

Great idea on the books. However, both Pub Pass and Sidewalk Dog are already SOLD OUT for 2024. Do you know any workarounds to still get a 2024 pass?

Check Surly’s gift shop. They sold Pub Passes into August last year. Also, Sidewalk Dog passes go from 4/1-3/31. They haven gone on sale for 2024-25 yet.

Thanks….Surly Gift Shop was only merchandise and “pub pass” search on Surly site didn’t show any results, so I’ll call them later. And also keep my eye on Dog Pass.
