Collectibles – Decreasing In Value

As promised on Monday, we’re closing out ‘Collectibles Week’ at the Fire Station with a look at collections that are decreasing in value. Below is a list of 20 collectible categories that have grown less popular (and valuable) in time.

We don’t have a lot of things that are on this list. My wife has some Hummel figurines (#4) from 25-30 years ago, but none that she invested a lot in. We have them in a curio cabinet and they remind us of when our son was little.

I also have some model trains (#17), but haven’t set them up in quite. Few years. Again, nothing we have invested much money into. Just some HO Tyco stuff from when my brother and I were kids and a Lionel Polar Express from under the Christmas Tree.

Only sentiment stops us from getting rid of these collectibles, so they’ll probably stay with us awhile. I’d love to collect old radios (#7), but I really don’t need to start another collection!
