Two Of Everything

My buddy Russ told me that once we bought a place in Florida, we’ll be buying “two of everything”.  I thought we could get by with having our Florida vacation place be a little spartan, but it’s not turning out that way.

Just one year in, we’ve gotten to the point where I could pretty much go back-and-forth to our home in Minnesota without more than a backpack.

We have two sets of clothes in the closet, two sets of cooking stuff in the kitchen, two sets of cleaning stuff in the laundry room, and two sets of “toys” in the garage.  In the garage that’s a second bike, a second set of golf clubs, a second bag of tennis/pickleball stuff, and a second set of tools.

When we moved in last year, I bought a box of 60 hangars from Amazon.  Guess what?  45 hangars are already filled.  I bought 2 golf shirts today and realized I’m running low on hangars.

Next week I’m heading up to MN for a few days and will likely bring an empty suitcase with me.  I have a few more things I’d like to bring down to Florida, but I probably won’t need a suitcase again.

“Two of everything” – prophetic.

Don’t have a duplicate set of “everything” at your cabin, cottage, vacation place?   What do you take back & forth?

  1. We’ve found the same thing. Didn’t know you had two sets of golf clubs – bring your set with and we can play when you visit. I do have an extra set here, but if you have a set you’re accustomed to that might make it more fun.
