Florida Busy Season ♥️

Celebration, Florida

Valentine’s Day is this weekend, which is my unofficial start of spring in Florida.  While we had a record cold start to the month, Valentine’s is usually the date that the weather turns very nice here and the flowers go into full bloom.

With the arrival of ideal weather, we have a lot of overnight visitors queued up over the next two months.  It is such a contrast with when we are in MN.  Since we both (mostly) grew up and went to college in MN+WI, we don’t ever have many overnight guests.  When we are in FL, that gets completely flipped.

We are hosting 8 different parties between now and early April.  This includes college friends, family friends, brother & wife, our son, MN neighbor & his son, wife’s girlfriends, former neighbors, and nephew & family.  Very busy!

In addition to overnight guests, there are a lot of times that we meet up with people that are staying at Walt Disney World Resort.  Almost every week it seems like someone we know is down here and we can drive over to the parks to visit and share a frosty beverage.

When I was a kid, we would have a few visits a year from out-of-town guests.  I always enjoyed that and have missed that as an adult.  We’re in FL for about 90 days this winter and I would estimate we will be spending time with family & friends for about 40 of those days.

How often do you host out-of-town guests?  Do you like that, or not so much?
