My son suggested today’s topic: What is the best form of entertainment for your dollar?
As a family, we talked about a few things: books, music, theater, sports, movies, television, and games. Books emerged from our conversation as our #1.
As a family, we started a ‘Summer Reading Club’ at the beginning of summer and I’ve read a record 5 books in 4 months. My wife has continued to read at her 1 book/month pace and our son is always reading several books at once.

My current book, an early Dan Brown novel called Digital Fortress is a lightly-used paperback that I got on eBay for just four dollars (free shipping). It’s about 300 pages which should take about 6-8 hours to read. That’s just $0.57 an hour, if you are happy reading books that are a used and a little older.
Since Gutenberg invented the printing press in 1450, we have over 500 years of good books to read from!
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

I haven’t tried pickleball yet, but know it is super popular at the tennis courts as I play at all summer. We didn’t include ’recreation’ in our discussion since it is almost always free. That said their are a lot of fun, FREE outdoor activities that we enjoy all summer – hiking, biking, tennis are all favorites!
