TV Time?

They say that all of the cable & streaming channels are getting a big boost during the COVID-19 shutdown. Everyone is at home and looking for something to watch on TV other than the grim nightly news.

I like watching TV and we have a few series that we are watching regularly now, including ’Outlander’, ‘Survivor’, and ‘LEGO Masters’. We even started watching the absurd ‘Tiger King’ docuseries last night. That’s a lot of shows for us to be tuned into, compared with our normal non-#StayAtHome lifestyle.

A few friends posted this list of 100 TV series with the challenge to see how many of them you have watched more than 10 episodes of. I’m told that, on average, most people have watched 30. Some friends we have are as high as 45.

Here’s the list:

Grey’s Anatomy, Stranger Things ⭐️, The Vampire Diaries, The Walking Dead, Fear The Walking Dead, Dexter, American Horror Story, Orange is the New Black, A Million Little Things, This is Us

The Simpsons ⭐️, New Amsterdam, Manifest, How To Get Away With Murder, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Scandal, Riverdale, The Good Doctor, House of Cards ⭐️

Once Upon a Time, House, True Detective, Dr. Pimple Popper, Power, Empire, One Tree Hill, Supernatural, Family Guy, Santa Clarita Diet

Shameless, Pretty Little Liars, Secret Life of an American Teenager, Bones, Criminal Minds, The 100, Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, The Resident, Game of Thrones

The Big Bang Theory ⭐️, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Lost, The Sopranos, NCIS, NCIS Los Angeles, NCIS New Orleans, Law & Order SVU, Gossip Girl, How I Met Your Mother:

Blue Bloods, Two Broke Girls, The Office ⭐️, Blacklist, Full House, Fuller House, Downton Abbey ⭐️, Hawaii Five-O, Big Mouth, Last Man Standing

Six Feet Under. Wentworth, Friends ⭐️, That 70s Show ⭐️, Girlfriends Guide to Divorce, Heartland, All-American, Greek, Yellowstone, Better Call Saul, You

Rescue Me, Scrubs, Community ⭐️, Letter Kenney, Kitchen Nightmares , The Masked singer, Robot Chicken, Vikings, Mind Hunters, New Girl

The Good Place, Black Mirror, Lucifer, Peaky Blinders, iZombie, Parks and Rec, Brooklyn 99, Handmaid’s Tale, Modern Family, Smallville:

Seinfeld ⭐️, Gilmore Girls, Charmed, Private Practice, Lost Girl, True Blood, Roswell, Haven, Mad Men ⭐️, Arrow

As you can see, I am only at 11. That’s a pretty poor showing. I have to admit that many of these series I haven’t even heard of. I think my count is pretty low because I prefer to watch sports, news, and car shows than scripted series.

Still, I do think it is the ‘golden age’ of TV right now. The one show on this list that I would like to start watching is ‘The Soprano’s’. Maybe that will be a good #StayAtHome activity for us.

How do you score on this list? What’s one shoe you would suggest right now?

  1. I only hit 9. I definitely recommend binge watching The Blacklist. It is hard to follow unless you watch a bunch in a row. And Longmire isn’t on your list as it ended, but also worth watching.

    1. I will look both of those up. I’m not sure who made the list or how they decided what was on it. I thought it odd to see ‘Friends’ on it.
