After writing ‘Two Of Everything’ a few weeks ago, I’m finding certain things I might even have THREE of between our main Minnesota home & snowbird place in Florida. Three warm jackets, three pairs of sunglasses, and three sizes of suitcases.
Then, while I thought those things through, I discovered something I might even need FOUR of … a FOURTH collection of toiletry / shaving stuff.
If you think of it, this is the first set of second stuff most people probably organize in their lives. You have the stuff in your bathroom you use everyday, and you organize a SECOND set of travel size ones that you can have ready to take on a trip.
Now we have a second place, we have a second bathroom stocked – which is actually our THIRD set of this stuff. Home bathroom, travel kit, and vacation place bathroom.
Now another need. We are leaving our vacation place for a few days to visit my brother and his wife in South Carolina. Guess what, we need? Another travel-size set of everything to take a from our vacation to another vacation place!
Four of everything! Comb, tooth brush, toothpaste, shampoo, body wash, et cetera ….! I guess it’s good that these kits are pretty cheap, but it seems bizarre to have FOUR sets of them!

Always great thoughts you share. It’s so true for convience sake to have your favorite items at each home (and travel). I have multiple Nutribullets, Instant Pots, etc. It’s part of the (sunk) “cost allocation” for living a great life.Also, it sounds dumb to say you can’t find things when you go back to each home because it’s been a while. It happens and it’s “rough.”

Yes – we built buying “two of everything” into our vacation place budget at the onset. Enjoy it, don’g fight it we thought. We’re blessed.
