Summertime is fun time, with a lot of activities. In addition to biking, pickleball, tennis, hiking, and walking the dog – I’ve added more golf into the mix this year.
That’s fine pretty well, but I’ve had some muscle soreness and back pains adjusting from my Winter activity levels. You can see from the chart below how much my exercise minutes (activity > 100 bpm) go up in the Summer months (measured by my Apple Watch).

Year round, I average almost an hour of exercise a day. In the summer, that jumps up to the 75-90 minute range. The daily increase has been so much, I’ve had to back off a little bit – for fear of getting hurt and spoiling the fun.
Still, I wouldn’t have it any other way right now. As the summer heat rolls in July & August, that slows the activities down. Summer travel also puts a cap on some of these activities.
What’s keeping you busy this summer? Do you measure your fitness activities?
