The EarlyRetireent.org forum recently had a post called “Early Retirement Inspiring Quotes“. Some of the quotes were really outstanding, so I wanted to post some of them here (along with some other favorites) …
- “The goal isn’t more money. The goal is living life on your own terms.” Chris Brogan
- “Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain
- “It’s time to start living the life you’ve imagined.” Henry James
- “There is no dignity quite so impressive, and no independence quite so important as living within your means.” Calvin Coolidge
- “With a few flowers in my garden, half a dozen pictures and some books, I live without envy.” – Lope De Vega
- “It is wealth to be content.” Lao-Tzu
- “Definition of work: People I don’t like telling me to do things I’m not interested in.”
- “The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.” – Henry David Thoreau
- “I couldn’t find any economical reasons to work. So I retired.” Unknown
- “The point of life is to enjoy a good life; Not exhaust myself trying to collect a pile of money” Mitch Anthony
- “When I’ve been bored before, I’ve never thought ‘hey, I’ll go to work!'” Unknown

I sat in a meeting last week which was a person who had spend 10 days assessing the work it had taken me less then ten days to do and getting paid three times the amount to do it! Trust me number 7 really resonates
